My Story

Renier Louwrens is a driven leader, adventurer, and coach dedicated to inspiring growth and excellence in both individuals and teams. From excelling in the corporate world to competing on the global stage of Survivor South Africa, Renier’s journey is a testament to the power of resilience, vision, and determination. His passion lies in helping people unlock their full potential, align their goals, and build lasting success.

Renier’s professional journey began in the engineering and production sector, where he gained more than a decade of experience at Sasol, the world’s largest coal-to-liquid energy company. His background as a chemical engineer equipped him with the analytical skills and discipline to thrive in complex, high-pressure environments. But Renier’s career goes beyond technical expertise—his ability to foster collaboration, align teams, and lead effectively soon became his defining strength. These experiences now serve as the foundation of his coaching, where he empowers companies to enhance performance and develop thriving cultures.

In 2021, Renier stepped into the spotlight as a contestant on Survivor South Africa: Immunity Island. As a lifelong fan of the game, his participation was a dream come true. On the island, Renier showcased his strategic acumen, quickly positioning himself as a key player within alliances. Although his journey ended with a twist beyond his control, Renier left the game proud of his performance and grateful for the lessons learned. His time on Survivor exemplifies his adaptability and resilience—qualities he now brings to his coaching and workshops.

Renier’s love for adventure extends far beyond reality TV. An accomplished endurance athlete, he has completed some of the most challenging events in the world. He is a finisher of the iconic Cape Epic mountain bike race, a competitor in the Adventure Race World Championship, and a runner of the grueling Drakensberg Grand Traverse. For a time, he even held a Fastest Known Time (FKT) world record. These experiences, filled with both triumphs and setbacks, have shaped his understanding of perseverance and the importance of teamwork.

In addition to his corporate work and athletic pursuits, Renier founded Beyond39, a non-profit organization aimed at empowering people to discover life’s possibilities beyond their comfort zones. Through mentoring, workshops, and leadership programs, Renier seeks to create meaningful change in the lives of others. His belief that growth begins where comfort ends is at the heart of everything he does—whether coaching executives, working with companies like Sasol and Keller Williams, or mentoring teenagers one-on-one.

At his core, Renier is motivated by faith, family, and a desire to make a difference. His journey is not just about personal success but about lifting others to achieve their best. Whether leading a team in the boardroom, competing in extreme races, or mentoring the next generation of leaders, Renier brings energy, enthusiasm, and a spirit of possibility to every challenge.
